UTM Games Opening Ceremony

Starting from 10th - 24th March, there was held an event for the first time in UTM called UTM Games (formerly known as SUKAM). This event is an annual sport competitions between the residential colleges. 

The opening ceremonies was held on 11th March where all the representatives from each colleges and UTM athletes gathered in the big event.

The epic statement from Afif that night was,

"Aih. Azie ada. Lama tak nampak. Tak busy ke?"

And I was laughing when he said that. Of course I'm not gonna be there if I was busy.

This was the night where suksis supposed to do the War Dance but being cancelled at last minute. We were all in our full spirit until they took it away. They thought that our performance will consume more time and the ceremony will ended up late. Pfft...

Our performance just lasted for 6 minutes and the opening ceremony finished before 11PM. 

Memang sempat kalo nak buat.

There's not much going on except that I can't join this damn event because I am one of the athlete. The rule was simple, any UTM students can participate in any of the games that will be held except for the UTM athletes. Damn.

I just thought of joining the kayak team for my college.

Z : I'm not into sport for this semester. Even silat for this coming MASUM, I'll be their manager.

PONTIAN 12 Ogos – Bekas jaguh silat olahraga negara, Nordin Atan, 39, meninggal dunia di Unit Hermatologi Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA), Johor Bahru pukul 9.45 pagi kelmarin akibat sakit 
leukemia yang dihidapinya sejak empat bulan lalu.


Pemergiannya amat menyedihkan isteri, Siti Sarinah kahar, 32, dan tiga anak mereka yang berusia antara tiga hingga sembilan tahun tatkala umat Islam sedang menjalani ibadah puasa.
Allahyarham merupakan atlet silat olahraga pada era 90-an dengan memenangi Kejohanan Silat Dunia pada 1995.


Siti Sarinah berkata, suaminya sempat berpesan supaya dia menjaga anak mereka, Nurizlyana Atasha, 9, Iskandar Syafiq, 8, dan Iskandar Mukriz, 3, dengan baik dan sentiasa mengutamakan pelajaran mereka,” katanya ketika ditemui di kediamannya di Kampung Dalam, Pontian di sini.
Kira-kira 300 saudara mara, kenalan dan rakan-rakan persilatan serta anak murid Allahyarham menziarahi jenazahnya sebelum dikebumikan di Tanah Perkuburan Islam Kerajaan di Kampung Parit Patah, dekat sini selepas Zohor pada hari yang sama. - Utusan

It's been a long time since I updated this bloggie.

On Saturday, MASUM phase 1 was officially over. Well, actually for silat only. 

Regarding my second teaser which was about this, in this post, I'll just typed about pencak silat for MASUM sports carnival 2011. K?

For pencak silat, the venue for this game was held in Pusat Kesenian dan Kebudayaan Sultan Salehuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, PKKSSAAS for short. Perghh...

For UTM, we got 

1 GOLD from Kak Pika (Weight Class E)

1 BRONZE from Faris (Weight Class C)

and

another BRONZE from Kak Nik & Kak Jaja (Tempur Puteri)

For the whole IPTAs, UPSI won the silat championship with 7 golds.

We cheers and scream for UTM fighters. Here are some of my fav mementos during MASUM phase 1.

I just had my match earlier this evening and I felt so frustrated and disappointed. 

Everyone were crying.

Me too but I didn't show it to them.

I just cried in my heart.

You gotta be wondering why my hand is full with bruises right ?

Well, not just my hand but my both legs are full with bruises too !

Now, I'm updating this post in the UTM bus on my way to UPM for MASUM Sports Carnival. I'm representating UTM for pencak silat.

What I feel right now is scared. Scared of unknown. 

I don't know who I might fight with but hopefully all the bruises on my body, the ulcer in my mouth, the fever that haven't cool down yet 

will pay off.

I just wanna say break-a some-legs to all my silat peeps. We trained very hard for the whole weeks and lets all of it pay off. Ameen !

Leg, Training and Bleep Test

This week is a horror. A nightmare.

Well, serve me right !

Who asked me not to train even though I was in UTM for the last few weeks.

When I sleep, I can't even feel my legs and that was heaven. Feels good!

But, when I wanna get off the bed, then, I can feel the pain in my leg. It was freaking painful. Most of the time, I can't take it anymore. Even my silat peeps realized that walked funny. Sometimes, I walked like a preggie mom. 

Next part of the body is my arm until shoulder.

It's still in pain. Just like my both legs. It's hard for me to slip through my clothes without saying the AWW, OUCH or even ADOI ! You know how it feel right ?

It will be in pain if I holding the body target. And the persons who kicked for my team will be mostly boys. The kicking of the boys and the girls are very different. Cikgu said that, in order for us (the girls) to go to the next level, we must train with the boys. OK then. I trained.

They kicked me, I hit them back.

YEAH !

The funny part is, everytime I started doing the power-stretching, the pain will automatically go away.

Wierd ?!!

Z : I got 8.1 in bleep test. Better than before despite with my pain-in-the-ass legs.

This was my first BBQ at UTM and I had so much fun.

And the shocking part was, Cikgu Hisham was there too.

I like the fire actually but still not-so-perfect!

This was my first time watching Sayang Sarawak.

Well, by watching this make me miss home soo much.

The main point I wanna watch this video was to see my perguruan in TV. I miss Cakar Imo very much. As I watched the video by skipping the politic parts, there it was, Mi Kolo terpampang kat menu. I miss Mi Kolo and Sibu people called it Mi Kampua. It is one of my favourite food though. I can't resist mi kampua.

Dabai, dabey is a black juicy fruit that taste salty bitter. Black on the outside and yellowish inside.

Even though it's not my favourite food but by looking at the sight of dabai, it makes me feel like I wanna go home and feel the lively scene in Sarawak. I remembered during my time in Labuan. Everytime I went to Labuan after the semester break, I always brought dabai for my udak who are staying in Labuan. They were so happy though because dabai is a very rare fruit. You can find dabai, only in Sibu guys!

Friendly Match with UTHM

Howdy bloggies!

Its been a fun weekend last week.

Last Friday had a night run and I managed to complete 3 full rounds. A really big 3 full rounds around Lingkaran Dalam UTM. Actually, on the same day, the MPM UTMJB had a visitation to the international campus but then, I had another commitment. Read here for more info.
